Closing the Credibility Gap: Implementation of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013- 2023

Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit is proud to present a Symposium titled 'Closing the Credibility Gap: Implementation of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013- 2023' to be held on 21-22 November 2013.

The Symposium will showcase the perspectives from Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health leaders on key considerations in the implementation of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013 – 2023, a decade long investment in achieving health equity for First Peoples across Australia. There will be presentations and workshops with health leaders exploring ways to close the credibility gap – between what we say we can and what we do to achieve health equity in Australia.

This Symposium will be critical for students, health and educational professionals, rights campaigners, reconciliation groups, community groups, interest groups, policy makers, teachers, community development, health planners and program developers responsible for implementing programs that have a whole of life and social determinants focus, and for those who want to know how to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Please find attached the Closing the Credibility Gap program and participant registration form. Whilst the Symposium is free of charge to participants, we would like you to register your interest in attending to assist us with catering for the event, and making sure your needs are met.

This promises to be an exciting and timely event, showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples contribution to, and thoughts about 'Closing the Gap' in health outcomes in Victoria and across Australia.
